Dutch National Student Orchestra
Welcome to the website of the Dutch National Student Orchestra (NSO). Every year this orchestra unites approximately 100 students from all over the country. For the participants, who get selected through auditions, the NSO represents a unique chance of performing like a professional musician.
In February the NSO rehearses for ten consecutive days, in preparation for another 10 days of high-level performing in major Dutch concert halls. The concert series traditionally ends with a performance in The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. After the tour in the Netherlands, the orchestra travels abroad to play its final concerts at international venues.
The NSO guarantees lively and high-quality performances. Ever since its founding in 1952 the NSO has been supported by the Dutch royal family and various prominent Dutch classical artists like Janine Jansen, Theo Olof, Emmy Verhey and Liza Ferschtman.
