General information
On the 26th of February 2012, the Dutch National Student Orchestra will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a concert in the magnificent Sala Santa Cecilia of the Auditorium Parco della Musica, in collaboration with ANDIAMO! Services Art & Business.
Conducted by Lucas Vis, the most renowned student of Bruno Maderna, the orchestra will play a spectacular programme with Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps as the invigorating highlight of the concert. Next to Stravinsky’s masterpiece, the evening will feature the world premiere of Colorissimi!, a colourful composition by Filomena E.A. Uffing, arranged by Stefano Conti and Uffing and combined with a new and exciting choreography by Emilia Sintoni.
The concert takes off with Brahms’ Akademische Festouvertüre: a very lively piece based on old student songs. The evening continues with Tzigane by Maurice Ravel, a fiery piece especially suited for our soloist, Emmy Storms. This young, very talented violinist has already won several prices on national and international music competitions. Before the break, the young students of the orchestra meet pianist Massimiliano Scatena and ballerina Emilia Sintoni in a swirling feast of colours, with Uffing’s Colorissimi!
As the grand finale after the break the orchestra will play the primeval rhythms of Le Sacre: a defiant work which is sure to bring the audience an energetic spectacle, full of adrenaline.
Tickets are available from now at the ticket office of the Auditorium and the different ticket offices in the centre of Rome. General tickets are €10,00 and €2,00 for students and children
